WHY STORY
Financial stress can ripple through every corner of life. I know this firsthand—I watched it unfold when my parents divorced during my high school and college years. The financial strain weighed heavily on my mom and, in turn, on me and my siblings. I saw how money challenges can erode not just stability, but also health, confidence, and peace of mind.
In college, I set out to become an engineer because I loved math and problem-solving. But I quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit. I even considered medicine—my father is a physician—but he advised me strongly against it. Through the guidance of an advisor, I stumbled into business and finance classes, and that’s where I lit up. I discovered financial planning: the process of helping individuals and families align their resources with their goals. To me, it felt like the perfect combination of solving complex problems and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
That sense of purpose deepened years later when I lost my husband, and my daughter was just two and a half. Because we had a financial plan in place, I didn’t have to worry about money in the midst of grief. I could focus entirely on my daughter and what was best for her. Personally experiencing the power of planning gave me a conviction I carry into every client relationship—I want others to have that same security when life takes an unexpected turn.
Today, I live what I teach. I’ve created the stability and freedom to spend my time in Telluride, something I once only dreamed of. Helping clients do the same—whether that means retiring earlier than expected, paying for their children’s education, or traveling more than they thought “rational” to plan for—is one of the greatest privileges of my work.
I believe money is a tool. A friend once joked that money is really just “fun coupons”—and I agree. It’s not about how much you have; it’s about how you use it to create a life you love. My role is to help clients push past the limits of what they think is possible and design a plan that gives them both security and freedom to live their fullest life.
“People have inertia. I help people see possibilities and have the confidence to live and give the way they want to.”
